The second scene occurs in a typical square of Havana at the end of the 19^th century, just after the abolition of slavery. African culture and race are increasingly merging with the white population of the island and the love relationships between blacks and whites are becoming a fusion of thoughts, dreams and cultures. While Havana’s high society is showing off its wealth in sumptuous soirees, the underprivileged colored population seeks pleasures in spontaneous parties full of joy and eroticism.

During the first half of the 20^th century, Cuba was politically, socially and economically shaped by US American influence. The scene is set in a typical La Rampa casino, the hub of Havana and the playground of the mafia during the roaring fifties. They operated hotels, night clubs and entertainment palaces such as the legendary Tropicana Cabaret. The exuberant night life in the casinos and in the streets of the old city is the backdrop to this third segment.
