Composers

With the exception of two classics (Guantanamera and El Manisero) all the music in “VIVA CUBA!“ was specifically composed for the show by two of the country’s leading musicians, namely Salsa star Pachito Alonso, the musical director of the show, and the avant-garde composer Edesio Alejandro, for the 16-man band conducted by Pachito Alonso – A tremendous experience full of musical energy and diversity.

The compositions unite in a modern manner the classic musical styles of Son, Pilon, Bolero, Mambo, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha and Salsa, the  Latin Jazz of the 1940’s as well as modern Pop und Ambient music.
