La Plaza

The second scene occurs in a typical square of Havana at the end of the 19th century, just after the abolition of slavery. African culture and race are increasingly merging with the white population of the island and the love relationships between blacks and whites are becoming a fusion of thoughts, dreams and cultures. While Havana’s high society is showing off its wealth in sumptuous soirees, the underprivileged colored population seeks pleasures in spontaneous parties full of joy and eroticism.
